The fitting on a roof lantern is a relatively easy task providing the existing roof has been prepared correctly and with care. Here is the prepared roof with the steels and joists all in place and fully felted.
The first step is to fix the cill to the opening.
Next the upstands are fitted to the cill.
The roof is normally prepared on the ground, ready to carry up to the opening.
The prepared roof is positioned on the upstands and secured.
The final step is to glaze the roof, add the cappings and clean up.
